Disassembly of light distribution curve file

Light distribution files, we can distinguish according to the standard, can be divided into two types:

First, the IES file, that is, the file in the format required by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, is called the IES file in accordance with the format required by the association.

Second, the CIE document, the CIE document is the format required by the Commission for International Lighting (Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage).

The difference between the two types of light distribution files is that the 0-180 degrees of the IES file are the same as the 90-270 degrees of the CIE file, meaning that the CIE format is rotated 90 degrees for the IES format, as seen in the lighting design software DIAlux. The color of the two curves is inconsistent.

The IES file is opened with a .TXT file, which is mainly divided into three parts, basic information, luminaire information and light intensity data; the basic information can be arbitrarily modified or added, and its information is cut off at TILT=NONE.

We can see in the luminaire information bar that all the information of the basic luminaire can be displayed in the information bar:

Number of light sources: This option is often displayed in the simulated IES file, because the software simulation of the IES file is sometimes simulated with multiple light sources, and the tested IES file is taken "1", then the role of this number Where is it? This number is very useful, we will give an example later;

Luminous flux: The data of this luminous flux is constant and is the luminous flux determined by the subsequent light intensity data;

The number of test samples, which is determined by the test accuracy. For example, "73" and "37" in the data represent that my sampling in one direction is 2.5 degrees (180/2.5+1) and 10 degrees (360/10+1). );

Dimensional unit, this is the metric or imperial system, "1" is English and "2" is metric;

Lamp size, this corresponds to "4";

Angle information, this corresponds to "3";

The light intensity information corresponding to the angle.

The previous introduction has already dismantled the IES file, so we will now tell you how to quickly meet the target requirements from the changes in the IES file for the common situation that needs to be modified.

Question: Do customers want IES files with different power and different luminous fluxes?

This requirement should be very common in the business process, because customers often need us to provide different power and luminous flux IES files to do different simulations. Then, how can we achieve this by changing the contents of the IES file?

For example: the IES file on the right is only 10.4W, 2040lm. If the customer needs 20400lm, then our operation method is to open the TXT file and then modify the number of light sources. For example, the default is 1, then the luminous flux of the IES file is 1*2040. Yes 2 is 2*2040, so you can modify it to the default multiple of the default luminous flux. We need 20400, change the number to 10, then import the DIAlux software, and then change the corresponding power, you can.

Well, some friends have to ask, if I don't want integer multiples, if I don't change this "1", I still have to be seamless, even professionals can't see it?

Ok, my friend, let me consider for a minute, and by the way, find out the textbooks to look over!

Light intensity = luminous flux per unit solid angle, then vice versa

φ=Iv*4π(θ/360) lm

The luminous flux is the first-order functional relationship of the intensity of the unit solid angle, which means that the light intensity Iv in the unit solid angle is increased in proportion, so that the required luminous flux can be achieved!

The practice is to multiply the following light intensity data by the multiple that you need to reach, and then import it in! Import the data by excel, then multiply it by a fixed value to clear the light intensity data in the original IES file. Come back in again!
